Sajtovi za početnike [Investiranje]

Zdravo drugari,

21 y/o with £500-£1000 to invest

I just turned 21 and have a good amount of savings that has been sat in my account for a few years collecting minimal interest.
Over quarantine I started looking into ways to invest my money and have put a small amount away into crypto currency as a more risky investment that I plan on leaving for many years.
I used the trading 212 practice account to get a grasp of stocks and shares investing and am currently at around 38% gains atm from investing into both individual stocks ( generic ones like NVIDIA, SNAPCHAT, JOHNSON & JOHNSON etc) and some ETF's like the vanguard S&P 500 etc. These gains are most likely luck due to the fact that I conveniently bought the dip on most of my choices when Covid hit.
Im looking to invest roughly £500-£1000 and am unsure whether I should go safe with EFT's , or because I'm young and this amount is a reletivley small fraction of my overall savings, go for individual stocks that could generate more gains or even look to just invest in dividend stocks.
I feel like I've got a pretty basic understanding of investing and have been pretty confident in myself because of my trading212 practice account. Knowing the money wasn't real I was happy to throw a few thousand here and there. However now I'm doing it for real Im struggling to decide my approach.
It might also be useful to know that I plan on investing the £500-£1000 exclusively for the time being, whether that be drip feeding or putting in the lump sum. Im a student atm who's not working so I don't have a steady income to be consistently putting money in but I will be doing this one I get a job.
Any advice would be very helpful.

Strategie d'Investissement Pour 15 ans

Bonjour ,
-Peer to Peer lending (Mintos) (un peu trop risquee?)

Broker with API in Europe

I have been working on a trading bot recently and I would like to start testing it with a paper account and potentially real money at some point.
I have been looking for brokers with APIs but I could not find any that match my criteria yet.
I found Alpaca but this is U.S Based and they only offer margin accounts that are subject to the PDT rule.
Interactive brokers do not offer free trades outside US
I also came across trading 212 which has an unofficial python API that's using selenium. not ideal...
as a last resort I will apply my bot on binance on cryptos but ideally I would like to see it in the stock market.
Any recommendations?

Broker recommendations

Hey guys,
So I have been paper trading for a few months now and I started trading with real money on trading 212 but I didn't really like it.
I started demo on MT5 one month ago, and it's so much better.
I did some research online for good brokers and saw some names: IG, Pepperstone, axi trader, avatrade etc. but in the end, I don't know which is best.
I just wanted to hear people's experiences with their respective brokers (any problems with withdrawals or poor customer services etc. ) and ask for suggestions.
I live in the UK. I'm not sure if that matters or not.
Would really appreciate your guidance and advice.
Thanks
PS: I only want to trade currencies, not crypto or commodities, thanks again

25, single, living in London, 28k a year (possible promotion) + freelance job. Is it possible to FIRE in my 40s if I move up north?

I'm 25 years old, I moved to London in March 2019 with 1k to my name, and so far have around 15k+ in savings. Investing and saving is pretty new to me and I never considered retiring early, but its dawning on me as I'm doing nothing with my money. I would appreciate what to do with my spare money rather than letting it rot in my bank account.
Of my 15k savings: I have 7.5k in the bank, 3k in wealthily S&S ISA (2019/2020 tax) and 4k on my Trading 212 ISA account (this tax year) it's in cash atm - I sold all early last month :( invested 3.5k made about £500, probably could've done more.... I also perhaps have about 1k in crypto but haven't checked in like a year (I invested around 4.5k during the bubble two years ago).
I work two jobs. My main full time job is 28k per year, take home pay is around 1.8k a month. It is an entry level position, so I imagine in a couple years time I could be on 32k at least. My freelance job is variable but I'm hoping I will get around £300-400 extra a month. This may mean working 7 days a week some months.
Currently (under normal circumstance without Covid-19) I pay a mates rates rent at £220 a month in London and travel costs are usually £100 a month. I live a frugal life. Since I moved to London in 2019, I've been a loner so don't socialize with others when I have spare time - partly a reason why I choose to work a second job actually. I probably spend £300 on food, entertainment and random crap. Probably less actually. I shop at Lidl, buy the cheapest pasta, sauces etc. Never go restaurants, only get the odd kebab here and there - and only if it's cheap! Only thing I treat myself to is videogames, and even then, I only buy when there's a good deal.
Changes in circumstance: DUE TO COVID-19 I will no longer be able to pay £220 a month, where I live as one of the people I lived with is an elderly person and does not want me in the household anymore. I've moved back up north and currently living rent-free but will be moving back down south once lockdown ends. I don't want to live in a shitehole neither do I want to live far away and commute 2 hours to work for cheap rent. So I assume after lockdown restrictions are over I will be paying around £800 per month rent.
SALARY MINUS EXPENSES (Conservative estimates)
Income (take home): £2000/month wage Expenses: £800 Rent (not yet but will be soon), £100 Travel and £300 Food/Entertainment etc. Total: £1200
Save approximately £800/month. Should save 9.6k a year, but I'm gonna be optimistic and say I should be able to get up to 10k a year actually - after all at the moment I'm saving 1.5k-2k a month until covid-19 lockdown ends (moved back uo north with parents remote working). Not to mention in a couple of years I should get a pay rise so it may jump to 15k a year.
PROJECTIONS (conservative again)
Based on current projections. If I save 10k a year for 3 years (30k). Assuming a pay rise and some passive-investing and I'm able to save around 17k per year after that over the next 12 years (204k) I should have in total 250k by the time I'm 40 years old. I come from an area where 3-bed houses are selling for 80k. Sure inflation will affect the prices, but they have risen only marginally over the last ten years.

What apps, websites, and services do you use?

I'm obviously very novice. Here in this sub and other forums, I see a lot of apps and websites used for different purposes. I want to list some of them here and share my understanding, hoping you can find my mistakes, share your experience with these, and maybe introduce other apps/websites you are using.

Banking:

These apps are kind of like a virtual bank, in some cases, they also give you actual debit and credit cards. People seem to be using these because they are a little bit lose on regulations and also cheaper.
I have a real bank (Rabo bank in the Netherlands) that also offers a mobile app, though not a good one. so I'm not sure why I should use any of these?

online broketrading:

I can do some investments with my bank's mobile app, as soon as I open the "Rabo Zelf Beleggen" account. I prefer not to use any of these if I don't have to. If I should have any of these then preferably as less as possible.

Real-time information:

these websites (some have mobile apps too), provide real-time information. I am using this Google spreadsheet using importhtml and importxml to import and pars some of the information from these websites. I'm also using googlefinance function, though it is not really good.

portfolio management:

I yet to start my real investments, so I can't comment on what they actually do or which one is better.
I would appreciate it if you could find my mistakes and also share your experiences. Thanks a lot for your kind support in advance.

Broker with API in Europe

Newbees to CFD topic

Ok, so here's my CFD strategy. I use CFD to balance out my Investment account losses. There is a method in the madness. Listen up. I'm a complete newbie for this and an un-educated moron.
  1. 75% of my portfolio is in investment and 25% is in the CFD acc. I only use the CFD to balance losses on a bad week. I work on the % bases not on the £ bases. So If I'm 1.2% down like this week I'm looking to find a CFD strategy what balance this 1.2% back and I like a to have a tolerance upwards but not too greedy.
  2. I started to trade on Limit\Stop basis and not on market order. It helps to have a structure on my trades. This is not apply every time especially in crypto but we will talk about it later. I stoped doing Market Order when I realised I'm pissing my money away trading by looking at the screen and not trusting my chart work. I use to press the button waaaaay toooo early and I seriously lost a big pile of tendies on this. So now I dow my charts and my DD and I have an entry point and a set of strategy of exiting the trade both up and down.
  3. I don't trade from my phone. This sounds like a retarded thing since this is a forum for a trading app and Trading212 guys would probably kick me out for this but I don't do orders on the phone unless it is a total emergency and I mean it's a fuckup on my bit like I forgot to do some essentials. And the good thing is - I don't need to. I don't need to look at my phone cause as I sad I don't do Market Orders so I have my buy and my sell and my stop loss and my take profit set up and I'm only using my mobile to monitor my trade I set up earlier.
  4. I don't like trading crypto on T212.. I'm sorry but it's just.. there's many other specific crypto derivative trading sites with better conditions. However! Over the weekend if you think you have a good speal put it on and this is the time when I do go into market order cause I'm convinced that crypto stuff is just a bloody lottery game.
  5. Trading 212 has a massive educational support and they let you use a Practice account! Use it! Learn the functions and learn the instruments you are trading! I'm total new here, I'm talking total shite but it took me weeks to memorise the ranges, numbers, functions and here's a thing - DO REAL MONEY. OK, I started doing the practice stuff and I started feeling like and idiot. If you do get it right and if you do make a gain contract you don't get shit. If you loose money you just go back and loose more. What I did is I started using small pool of a £100 and I multiplied it in my head so let's say a position of a £10 was a 100quid for me. I lost a sizeable chunk of that money and as I was writing my trade book I got pissed off cause I was pissing my money away. That stopped me doing stupid shit like focusing on a 1m chart or doing market order or trading on an instrument I have no idea what it is and how it works.
  6. if something goes sideways it's your fault. don't try to blame it on others. dude - it's sad on the tin - over 80% loosing money here! It's like the good old D&D cave - once you enter, gave up all hope.
  7. Use other sites like Trading View and stuff to aid your trade and remember - CFD is not a prime income sorure for anyone on Trading 212!!! It is a tool to help with your investment portfolio. Don't you ever think you would get the money out from CFD if you are like me and only in this game since a few month!
  8. USE THE BLOODY STOP LOSS AND USE THE PRICE ALLERT AT THE SAME TIME ON OTHER PLATFORMS!!! I had this issue before when my Trading212 app just don't pushed the notification onto my phone! ALWAYS use a redundant alert system! I set my Stop Loss on Ethereum just now at 223.18 but I have 224.31 on alert set on both T212 app and TradingVIew as well to make sure there's no fuckup. Remember. If something goes shit - it's your money! Nobody will help you to get your money back cause it's your money and not theirs!

Presumably in an attempt to smear a local competitor, Hayden Otto inadvertently publishes irrefutable on-chain proof that he excluded non-BCH retail revenue to shape the "BCH #1 in Australia" narrative.
  • Scroll down to "Proof of exclusion" if you are tired of the drama recap.
  • Scroll down to "TLDR" if you want a summary.

Recap

In September 2019, BitcoinBCH.com started publishing so called monthly "reports" about crypto retail payments in Australia. They claimed that ~90% of Australia's crypto retail revenue is processed via their own HULA system and that ~92% of all crypto retail revenue happens in BCH.
They are aggregating two data sources to come up with this claim.
One is TravelByBit (TBB) who publishes their PoS transactions (BTC, LN, ETH, BNB, DASH, BCH) live on a ticker.
The other source is HULA, a newly introduced POS system (BCH only) and direct competitor to TBB run by BitcoinBCH.com - the same company who created the report. Despite being on-chain their transactions are private, not published and not verifiable by third parties outside BitcoinBCH.com
Two things stood out in the "reports", noted by multiple users (including vocal BCH proponents):
  • The non-BCH parts must have tx excluded and the report neglects to mention it (the total in their TBB analysis does not match what is reported on the TBB website.)
  • The BCH part has outliers included (e.g. BCH city conference in September with 35x the daily average)
The TBB website loads the historic tx data in the browser but hides transactions older than 7 days from being displayed, i.e. you can access more than 7 days worth of data if you understand JavaScript and can read the source code (source).

Hayden Otto's reaction

In direct response to me publishing these findings on btc, Hayden Otto - an employee at BitcoinBCH.com and the author of the report who also happens to be a moderator of /BitcoinCash - banned me immediately from said sub (source).
In subsequent discussion (which repeated for every monthly "report" which was flawed in the same ways as described above), Hayden responded using the same tactics:
"No data was removed"
"The guy is straight out lying. There is guaranteed no missing tx as the data was collected directly from the source." (source)
"Only data I considered non-retail was removed"
"I also had these data points and went through them to remove non-retail transactions, on both TravelbyBit and HULA." (source)
He admits to have removed non-BCH tx by "Game Ranger" because he considers them non-retail (source). He also implies they might be involved in money laundering and that TBB might fail their AML obligations in processing Game Ranger's transactions (source).
The report does not mention any data being excluded at all and he still fails to explain why several businesses that are clearly retail (e.g. restaurants, cafes, markets) had tx excluded (source).
"You are too late to prove I altered the data"
"[...] I recorded [the data] manually from https://travelbybit.com/stats/ over the month of September. The website only shows transactions from the last 7 days and then they disappear. No way for anyone to access stats beyond that." (source)
Fortunately you can, if you can read the website's source code. But you need to know a bit of JavaScript to verify it yourself, so not an ideal method to easily prove the claim of data exclusion to the public. But it laters turns out Hayden himself has found an easier way to achieve the same.
"The report can't be wrong because it has been audited."
In response to criticism about the flawed methodology in generating the September report, BitcoinBCH.com hired an accountant from a regional Bitcoin BCH startup to "audit" the October report. This is remarkable, because not only did their reported TBB totals still not match those from the TBB site - their result was mathematically impossible. How so? No subset of TBB transaction in that month sums up to the total they reported. So even if they excluded retail transactions at will, they still must have messed up the sum (source). Why didn't their auditor notice their mistake? She said she "conducted a review based on the TravelByBit data provided to her", i.e. the data acquisition and selection process was explicitly excluded from the audit (source).
"You are a 'pathetic liar', a 'desperate toll', an 'astroturf account' and 'a total dumb ass' and are 'pulling numbers out of your ass!'"
Since he has already banned me from the sub he moderates, he started to resort to ad hominems (source, source, source, source).

Proof of exclusion

I published raw data as extracted from the TBB site after each report for comparison. Hayden responded that I made those numbers up and that I was pulling numbers out of my ass.
Since he was under the impression that
"The website only shows transactions from the last 7 days and then they disappear. No way for anyone to access stats beyond that." (source)
he felt confident to claim that I would be
unable to provide a source for the [missing] data and/or prove that that data was not already included in the report. (source)
Luckily for us Hayden Otto seems to dislike his competitor TravelByBit so much that he attempted to reframe Bitcoin's RBF feature as a vulnerability specific to TBB PoS system (source).
While doublespending a merchant using the TBB PoS he wanted to prove that the merchant successfully registered the purchase as complete and thus exposed that the PoS sales history of TBB's merchants are available to the public (source), in his own words:
"You can literally access it from a public URL in the Web browser. There is no login or anything required, just type in the name of the merchant." (source)
As of yet it is unclear if this is intentional by TBB or if Hayden Ottos followed the rules of responsible disclosure before publishing this kind of data leak.
As it happens, those sale histories do not only include the merchant and time of purchases, they even include the address the funds were sent to (in case of on-chain payments).
This gives us an easy method to prove that the purchases from the TBB website missing in the reports belong to a specific retail business and actually happened - something that is impossible to prove for the alleged HULA txs.
In order to make it easier for you to verify it yourself, we'll focus on a single day in the dataset, September 17th, 2019 as an example:
  • Hayden Otto's report claims 20 tx and $713.00 in total for that day (source)
  • The TBB website listed 40 tx and a total of $1032.90 (daily summary)
  • Pick a merchant, e.g. "The Stand Desserts"
  • Use Hayden's "trick" to access that merchants public sale history at https://www.livingroomofsatoshi.com/merchanthistory/thestanddesserts, sort by date to find the 17th Sep 2019 and look for a transaction at 20:58 for $28. This proves that a purchase of said amount is associated with this specific retail business.
  • Paste the associated crypto on-chain address 17MrHiRcKzCyuKPtvtn7iZhAZxydX8raU9 in a blockchain explorer of your choice, e.g like this. This proves that a transfer of funds has actually happened.
I let software aggregate the TBB statistics with the public sale histories and you'll find at the bottom of this post a table with the on-chain addresses conveniently linked to blockchain explorers for our example date.
The total of all 40 tx is $1032.90 instead of the $713.00 reported by Hayden. 17 tx of those have a corresponding on-chain address and thus have undeniable proof of $758.10. Of the remaining 23, 22 are on Lightning and one had no merchant history available.
This is just for a single day, here is a comparison for the whole month.
Description Total
TBB Total $10,502
TBB wo. Game Ranger $5,407
TBB according to Hayden $3,737

What now?

The usual shills will respond in a predictive manner: The data must be fake even though its proof is on-chain, I would need to provide more data but HULA can be trusted without any proof, if you include outliers BCH comes out ahead, yada, yada.
But this is not important. I am not here to convince them and this post doesn't aim to.
The tx numbers we are talking about are less than 0.005% of Bitcoin's global volume. If you can increase adoption in your area by 100% by just buying 2 coffees more per day you get a rough idea about how irrelevant the numbers are in comparison.
What is relevant though and what this post aims to highlight is that BitcoinBCH.com and the media outlets around news.bitcoin.com flooding you with the BCH #1 narrative are playing dirty. They feel justified because they feel that Bitcoin/Core/Blockstream is playing dirty as well. I am not here to judge that but you as a reader of this sub should be aware that this is happening and that you are the target.
When BitcoinBCH.com excludes $1,000 Bitcoin tx because of high value but includes $15,000 BCH tx because they are made by "professionals", you should be sceptical.
When BitcoinBCH.com excludes game developers, travel businesses or craftsmen accepting Bitcoin because they don't have a physical store but include a lawyer practice accepting BCH, you should be sceptical.
When BitcoinBCH.com excludes restaurants, bars and supermarkets accepting Bitcoin and when pressed reiterate that they excluded non-retail businesses without ever explaning why a restaurant shouldn't be considered reatil, you should be sceptical.
When BitcoinBCH.com claims the reports have been audited but omit that the data acquisition was not part of the audit, you should be sceptical.
I expect that BitcoinBCH.com will stop removing transactions from TBB for their reports now that it has been shown that their exclusion can be provably uncovered. I also expect that HULA's BCH numbers will rise accordingly to maintain a similar difference.
Hayden Otto assumed that nobody could cross-check the TBB data. He was wrong. Nobody will be able to disprove his claims when HULA's BCH numbers rise as he continues to refuse their release. You should treat his claims accordingly.
As usual, do your own research and draw your own conclusion. Sorry for the long read.

TLDR

  • BitcoinBCH.com claimed no transactions were removed from the TBB dataset in their BCH #1 reports and that is impossible to prove the opposite.
  • Hayden Otto's reveals in a double spend attempt that a TBB merchant's sale history can be accessed publicly including the merchant's on-chain addresses.
  • (For example,) this table shows 40 tx listed on the TBB site on Sep 17th, including their on-chain addresses where applicable. The BitcoinBCH.com report lists only 20 tx for the same day.
  • (Most days and every months so far has had BTC transactions excluded.)
  • (For September, TBB lists $10,502 yet the report only claims $3,737.

[Austria] The one broker choice thread to finish them all

Servus to all personal finance gurus - I just wanted to ask for your advice and open a bit of a discussion regarding best brokers available in Austria for different uses. I am breaking this post down into three main parts - best brokers for ETFs, casual long-term investment into stocks and day trading. In the future, I personally anticipate all three uses for myself, with a money distribution of something like 65/30/5 percent.
For each of the uses, I am listing the main priorities I have identified and the broker of choice - however, this list is by no means final, and I would very much like to listen to your thoughts and considerations on the matter!
1. ETF broker (looking to invest consistently in S&P + EM, as well as time-to-time into thematic ETFs such as AI, Machine learning etc.) - Flatex
What I prioritise:
Other existing options: conventional banks like Erste (too expensive), Trade Republic (has a Sparplan, still not open in Austria, not steuereinfach), DADAT/Hello Bank (too few ETFs to choose from)

2. Long-term stock portfolio broker (to invest consistently in a portfolio of 10-15 companies for a long term, with sums under 1000EUR pro transaction) - Degiro or Trading 212? Both non-steuereinfach, both low-cost (T212 is no-commission) - which would you recommend and why? (or maybe even Flatex?)
What I prioritise:
Other existing options: Flatex (steuereinfach, but expensive (up to 5,90 per trade)), Revolut (using it currently, but the spreads seem bad, there are no limit orders etc., there are reports of users getting locked out for weeks, as well as reports of app malfunctioning when trading volumes go up), Interactive Brokers (Inactivity fees).

3. Day-trading or option broker (looking to have some fun with trading on short term-basis, ready to lose the entire deposit for the sake of learning) - Trading 212
What I prioritise:
Other existing options: Flatex (steuereinfach and has a day trader flat fee account), Interactive brokers (seems very 1990s from their website), Degiro (almost the same as T212, seems to have a more limited CFD/options array, short position and leverage fees are higher)
  1. Bonus level - Crypto trading (never tried yet, may be up for some signal-based day trading + a small speculative investments portfolio) - Binance. Priorities: a secure platform + low fees.

I would be incredibly grateful for any analysis / critique of the above - and let’s together make the definitive list that all our Austrian co-redditors could use!

BitTorrent Price Prediction 2020

TradingBeasts BTT price prediction

The BitTorrent price is forecasted to reach $0.0003291 (+21.89%) by the beginning of June 2020. By the end of December 2020, the BitTorrent’s average price will be around $0.0003558 (+31.78%).

Wallet investor BitTorrent token price prediction

The BTT’s average price is predicted to reach $0.000019 (-92.96%) at the end of this year. The maximum price per coin could be around $0.000029 (-89.26%) by the end of December 2020.

DigitalCoinPrice BitTorrent coin price prediction

The average price of BTT coin will be equivalent to $0.00043277 in December 2020 (+60.29%).

Crypto-Rating BTT price forecast

Crypto-Rating says that BitTorrent must have decided to go on a price action vacation and leave the recovery on the pause. BTT will need to take an incredible effort for the price to recover, so the best option right now would be to short BTT or to cut losses while it’s not too late.

CryptoInfoBase BTT price forecast

By CryptoInfoBase’s opinion, the new pumping wave will occur in 2020. Some pundits dislike BitTorrent and its connection with Tron project. Basically, in 2020 the price movements of BTT will be determined by the marketing constituent of the project.

Do I need to pay tax on earnings from stock market and crypto?

I'm young and stupid apparently! Never had to pay taxes apart from deducted directly from my pay. I earn more than the minimum threshold to pay normal tax on my income but lately I've invested some money via Trading 212 on crypto and some shares. I made a small-ish profit (about £3000) and want to withdraw it. How do I pay tax on it? Or do I need to? How does it work? Should I want until a certain date to pay it so I withdrew a minimum or do I do it on a rolling basis?
No parents or family to ask these stupid questions, so thank you Reddit strangers.
